Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

By using PhoneWatch, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app or service.

What PhoneWatch is

PhoneWatch is a caregiver awareness tool. A monitored phone reports basic activity signals — motion, screen on/off, lock/unlock, and battery — to a paired caregiver so they can see, calmly, that someone is up and moving. PhoneWatch does not track location and does not access calls, messages, contacts, or photos. The app is free to start using.

Accounts and pairing

To use PhoneWatch, a caregiver creates an account and the monitored device is paired to it. Pairing is two-sided: the monitored device must enter a pairing code and acknowledge an on-device consent screen before any data is shared. Either side can end monitoring at any time by unpairing.

Text message invitations

PhoneWatch lets a caregiver send a one-time text invitation to a person they want to set up. Before sending, the caregiver confirms they have that person's permission to be texted. The invitation is a single, transactional message containing a pairing code and an app link — PhoneWatch does not send recurring or marketing texts. Message and data rates may apply. Recipients can reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.

Acceptable use

You agree to use PhoneWatch only to monitor a person who has consented to being monitored. You may not use PhoneWatch to surveil, track, or text anyone without their knowledge and permission, or in any way that violates applicable law. You may not attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or resell the service.

Availability

PhoneWatch is provided as-is. We make reasonable efforts to keep it running but do not guarantee uptime, delivery of any alert, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. PhoneWatch is an awareness aid, not an emergency or medical service, and should not be relied on as one.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PhoneWatch and its owner are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the service.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, United States.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
