Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
PhoneWatch is built to give caregivers quiet awareness — not surveillance. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it's handled.
What we collect
PhoneWatch collects the following from the monitored device:
- Phone motion events (moved, still)
- Screen on/off events
- Lock/unlock events
- Battery level and charging state
- Timestamps of the above events
We do not collect location, GPS coordinates, call logs, contacts, messages, photos, or any personal content from the device.
How data is used
Data is transmitted to secure cloud storage and displayed only to the paired caregiver account. It is used solely to power the PhoneWatch dashboard and alert system.
Data retention
Event data is retained for 30 days and then automatically deleted. Account data is retained until you delete your account.
Who can see the data
Only the caregiver account paired with a monitored device can view that device's data. We do not sell, share, or provide data to third parties except as required by law.
Consent
The monitored device user must complete a pairing flow and acknowledge a consent screen before any data is transmitted. Monitoring can be stopped at any time by unpairing the device.
Text messages (SMS)
If you invite someone to PhoneWatch by text, you enter their mobile number and confirm that you have their permission to text them. We then send that number a single invitation message containing a pairing code and a link to the app. This is a one-time, transactional message — PhoneWatch does not send recurring or marketing text messages. Message and data rates may apply. Recipients can reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.
We do not share mobile numbers or text-messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
